We always stop here when we travel back home. And always get the gyro meal with fries. Love that they put lots of meat and just enough tomatoes, sauce and onions. The fries are always hot and crispy. If you are looking for something else than McDonald's, this is the spot to get something to eat.
It's good for the price but nothing that will blow you away.
Wanted to go to Genes and Jude's outside the airport, but Uber there and back would have been $40. Goal coat dogs hit the spot for $8. Comes with fries or chips.
Decent Chicago dog. Comes with fries! I think it’s pretty good for the airport but obviously not as good as Max’s take out downtown... but honestly who can beat that?
The hot dogs here are really flavorful, and the service is really quick.
Best vegan options at the airport. They have veggie samosas, Mediterranean togo boxes, soy based protein boxes with Chinese food, veggie pizzas, tofu noodles, and more. It was a real treat to see all these food options available to us. Very tasty and the staff is also very kind.
Update: I've gone back twice to smuggle regular plain dogs into the movie theater across the street, and I gotta say they've won me over. It's quick, super cheap (couple bucks per dog) and duh-licious. I may try a different dog soon, but will still stay away from their chili!
Smiling and perhaps a huge attitude adjustment would work in recieving a better rating. I'm not quite certain why keep asking me if I'm sure I don't want any meat if I stated I do not eat meat several times- and then receiving meat anyway on my bagel. Also, rolling your eyes at the customer is not polite when you are asked a question. Leave the attitude at home.
Oh it's just fabulous you get to taste Chicago wonderful food one more time before you board the airplane. And if you're able to control yourself you might actually bring some with you on the plane and East some the next day.
Quick bite at airport... yes. Satisfying or yummieh bite... no :(
Gold Coast dogs, Chicago O’Hare Airport Terminal 3. Ordered one Chicago Style Hot dog. Price is over $8.00 including choice of fries or chips, up make it two dogs one of both please. They offer other Chicago staples like Italian Beef too. If you need to grab-n-fly there are pre-made sandwiches.
In addition to the great Italian beef, they also offer super fries .
Got in and out quick. Got a Chicago Dog just like it comes! It was amazing. If you're there you should grab one... well worth it.
Was all set to buy typical overpriced food at Ohare airport. Waiting in line at this place. The cook started popping pimples while he spoke to other staff while they ignored customers waiting to order. I could not take that and left. Good luck if you eat here. I rarely give one star.
Fries were really good! The price of sausage + fry combo is worth more than the combos at the nearby McDonald's in my opinion as the fries and hot dogs were tasty. My only complaint was that the hot dog could use a little more flavor and was not as jumbo as I expected, but nevertheless still good.
Most confusing ordering and picking up service I’ve ever seen. They yell your order plus yell when it’s ready so how do you differentiate it?! Pizza is okay but service very confusing. It’s obvious I was not the only one having a hard time.
Had a lot of egg and affordable for airport food. Fastest fresh and hit the spot for a long flight.
Our son and daughter absolutely loved the hot dogs here! We stopped in for a quick bit for lunch, very happy and friendly staff too!
Italian beef sandwich has good flavor, but it’s sinfully dry. The Chicago dog was halfway decent. The service/process to order was hilarious. If this is your only choice for a beef sandwich while passing through, it’ll get your fix. But try to go elsewhere if possible.
What a treat I found in O'Hare airport. They make everything right in front of you. I had the Philly cheese steak which was great! They also have great fresh cut fries. The ordering process is a little confusing for newcomers.
I tried this restaurant since I was bored of the other chain restaurants. Had the Chicago dog and the Italian beef. Both were awesome. Service was also good. I would definitely recommend this when you are at Gate Ls in O'Hare.
Small store without any seating. In terminal 3 right across from gate L1B. Great place for a quick bite if you are in a hurry.
Amazing selection of Vegan food!!! Cold dishes but good!! Thank you 😜🌱I got the Vegan “Chicken” Teriyaki Noodles !! Also great service!
The best dogs I ever had.
Worst food and service by far. The employees were arguing between them in front of everyone and my chicken breast sandwich was dry and almost burned. Horrible experience, first and last time, never again.
From Chicago so while I was in the airport waiting I decided to get something that has always been near and dear to me. A Chicago hotdog. While it wasn't exactly what I remember it wasn't horrible. When you put ingredients on a Chicago dog they cant be COLD! They need to be at least room temperature if not warm. It brings down the temperature of the hotdog. That was kind of disappointing.
Food was okay for an airport but the workers are so rude, we ordered 5 meals and the women working started yelling "Chilli dog", I heard her yell it several times but had no idea she was telling me to come pick up the food as I ordered 4 other things, the store was pretty full and people were amazed how rude she was. Thankfully i dont travel though that airport alot.
I just went to gold coast dogs at O'Hare airport terminal 3. Great food but I was most surprised by the exceptional service! You can tell the crew has a great time working together and working to make sure everyone is happy.Thank you!
Fantastic sandwich! Doesn't taste like airport food.
Pretty good hot dog for a layover!
So much more than just hotdogs! They have muffins, light snacks, drinks, and small mini pizzas to go. They also serve the classic Chicago style hot dog!
Pretty good Chicago dog
OK, so I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sesame bagel and it was about as good as could be expected. it's a better alternative than getting breakfast at McDonald's next door. I will saw the staff was friendly and service was pretty quick.
I got the bagel sandwich which was very dry. I added cream cheese and still not great but there’s not many options at this gate sadly.
Had the philly cheesesteak today. It was good. Small but good. It was packed with cheese which was nice. The only bad thing was the thing had grease dripping out of it as soon as I picked it up. 😐 The fries were very good as well. Hot and crispy. Fresh off the grill.
I literally will go hungry before eating here again. I would’ve walked out had I not already paid. Foods fine for what it is, but the way the employees cooking talked to a customer is completely unacceptable. She was having a hard time hearing the person taking the order so she politely said what a couple times. They snapped at her. Embarrassed and presumably angry they left. After they left, the employees were still belittling her. She was of Asian decent, and the male employee said and I quote, “where’s Ching Chang” while all the female employees laughed. The older gentleman was nice and had no part of it. The location was right across from L1b in ohare.
Maybe it's just me, but I wasn't particularly impressed with this restaurant. I'll admit, there aren't too many options in this part of the airport, with a McDonald's directly next door and a Hudson News convenience store across the lobby.I opted for a cheddar dog and my wife went with the hot dog and a pickle. The cheddar dog was nearly inedible, with an odd coating around the dog that made it difficult to chew through. I'll admit though, the fries that came with the dogs are really good.
Very poor service/guy was staring at his nails while talking to me and barely looked up, other staff was just as non-motivated.. Very poor service and food was almost flavorless. Would not return.
Would not go back or recommend this place. The hot dog was very dry with no flavor. The workers were also high with the attitude.
Had a good dog in the Chicago Airport here.
Fast service and the friendly gentleman at the cash register gave me an ear bud tip when he noticed mine was missing. Such a nice thing to do.
Ok so, obviously you can get better Italian beef, Chicago dog's, etc, in Chicago itself. That being said, when you don't have time to do this, Gold Coast Dogs is really not a bad choice. I have tried the Italian beef, Philly cheese, and the Chicago dog and they ate all very good. I would definitely recommend giving them a try if you have a layover at O'Hara.
Everywhere I travel, I always try and track down the best hot dogs. So when I knew I would have a layover at O'Hare, I knew I'd find a good dog...and the Chicago Style Chicago Dog did NOT disappoint. I walked all the way from Terminal C to Terminal L to get to it and it was worth the walk! Next time I come back through O'Hare I'll be sure to schedule a layover to do it again!!
First Chicago dog and I was nothing short of impressed! The perfect mix of crunch from the seared dog and fresh veggies in addition to the soft fresh poppy seed covered bun. Definitely a must try in the Chicago area.
If you're at this airport this is better than most restaurants. Find it in the terminal this costs about the same as the other places but tastes a lot better.
It was pretty good for trying it one time, but not worth $8 for 1 hot dog and a small cup of fries... but it is the airport
I ordered the halal chicken shawarma sandwich. The total came to over $10 and included fries or chips but does not come with a drink. The meat was cooked well but lacked flavor due to very little sauce being added to the sandwich. Only ordered the sandwich because it was halal. The owner was also there and didn't acknowledge my existence. He was to busy complaining about business being slow to his employees. .
Had a great dog and bratwurst there. Service was outstanding!
Quick food good, nice people
It's the go to place when I travel back home. The Gyros are the best. The combo comes with fries and it's always really good.
